Shogun Japanese Steakhouse in Sterling Heights

The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Yvonne is an excellent waitress. She goes out of her way to make sure that you are comfortable and pleased with your order. The chefs are very nice. This is one of my favorite places to dine.

This place was horrible!! The food was nasty the dishes was dirty. The waitress have lack of Communication with the cooks. Only thing was decent with the drinks until I found a bug in it. It was my first and last time never again they seat us away from the grill could not see our food being cooked at all. Ppl go to these places for the experience and not to be sitting alone with no one cooking on the grill they are seating in front of. They didn’t even give us water smh. They need to do better with service. They also deep fry my salmon since they made it wrong and didn’t want to recook it on the grill but said they will cook it in back witch was deep fry seen all the damn grease on the plate smh. If I could give this place zero stars I would but they get one for the drinks. I also told my waitress about how poorly we where being treated didn’t really care smh

Due to Impatient waitress, this was my first and last time visiting this place. I was hoping for better entertainment by Hibachi chef but that wow down to a minimum. Food was good and fast.

It was very quiet on a Monday night at about 6. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good. There were only 2 of us but I think a large group would have a lot of fun with the hibachi chef.

Went during lunch special excellent price and full Hibachi Grill!!! Zucchini and mushrooms and onions!!! 10 better than Benihana!!! Good customer service

Oh this place has no words. The food is always top notch. I love this place. Highly recommend. They cook everything in front of you, so the food always tastes great.

The worse service ever! They made us wait 25 minutes just to get more customers to fill the table before cooking the food. They are rude and not the best hospitality.

The food here is okay, typical hibachi food. The staff is good but unfortunately everything they serve is bland and overpriced. Absolutely no seasoning on anything, costing more than $20 for barely a few ounces of steak. The staff are good (low English skills, however), the restaurant is beautiful but the food is less than mediocre with 5 star prices. Defiantly not going back

I've been coming here for years, but I'm done after tonight. Terrible service...sushi that we ordered as an appetizer came out after we were paying the bill. Wouldn't honor a groupon that has "NEVER EXPIRES"printed on it and the waitress wouldn't allow me to speak to the manager directly.

I really I came here to try the sushi, and it was good but did not completely stand out. I felt that it really did not stand out. The smoked salmon and cucumber roll was the best one that I had. I also ordered the Key West roll; it was crab meat with avocado deep fried, ginger dressing and spicy sauce on top. The fried part is what got to me because it had a rubber like texture to it. It looked just like the tempura I ordered; however, it was a completely different texture.The tempura I ordered was the vegetable tempura. It was deep fried to a perfect crisp, and the flavor was delicious. But I did not care for the sauce it came with (I am not sure what type of sauce it was).

No lunch on Sundays. So we never go Sundays. We only go for lunch. Where else can you get hibachi fillet mignon for about $10. Everyone there is super nice. They always make flaming volcano for us. Great 🍣

We had a superb time at this restaurant. We enjoyed the superb atmosphere and the menu. The waiters were super welcoming. I’m glad we finally managed to visit here.

First time I've been to a place like this. Food is great. You get a lot, and it's fun to watch.

New favorite. We love coming here for the shrimp fried rice. Never had anything that wasn’t good and the service is always great!

Tasty and fun! I was nervous to be eating out, but all employees were masks and place looked clean. Easy to keep social distancing...and dinner was tasty!

Been going here for about 10 years and have always loved this specific location and it's wonderful staff and food. A great, mostly quiet, and relaxing dining establishment

This place always delivers. They have fresh food for fair rates, there is no waiting time even when they are full.

The seating format commands social interaction between total strangers. This experience will call upon your inner social skills and test your true abilities. Come prepared. Come hungry. Hibachi. Rice. Steak. What more could you ask for?

95% we go for the great sushi, we have eaten at grill while very good sushi is our favorite.

Ive been eating here for years. Portions are great, food always on point, and hands down amazing. It is the most underrated hibachi in Macomb County.

Terrible experience from the beginning! We waited 25 minutes after already having a reservation to be sat and this was only after we brought it up to the hostess because the entire lobby had been sat. Our server had missed a seaweed salad but no bug deal it was corrected. All of our hibachi was cooked and served and we never got our sushi rolls. We brought this up and it took another 15 minutes. They said they would box it up but did not. We got our bill with all items on it and nothing to compensate for the mistake. On top of that, the owner or manager came over to make sure the items WERE on the bill and then walked away. To top it off, we are now feeling very sick and having stomach issues. I know their location in Macomb had health code violations in the past....maybe this one is following suit.

It's not their newest location but we think the food is the best at this location. Great for bigger group events and you won't go away hungry.

Although my dining experiences here are generally ok, this joke of a restaurant has decided to place the cost of grenadine (used to make a simple cherry Pepsi) over the satisfaction of the customer. It's already a $3 soft drink people! Get real and take care of your guests! I for one will no longer be returning due to the waitress who chose to argue this point on now more than a single occasion...I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

Lunch menu is a good deal. Steak was decent quality. However, the server was not enthusiastic or entertaining. Maybe it was because it was lunch.

Very pleased with the food at Shogun. Good service. Nice friendly atmosphere. Had the chicken and steak both or cooked very well good-sized portion enjoy the food and experience here better than any other Japanese Steakhouse. We will return. Recommend this location and this particular Japanese Steakhouse to all that are interested in this type of food

The food was nasty. I’m really angry I got take out on lunch break because I would have definitely sent it back and asked them to try again.

Delicious hibachi. Attentive waitresses ready to serve you another drink or refill. Theyve even upped the hibachi show since the last time we were there.

The service is very fast. However, the food I'd not that great. There is not enough seasoning and they did not use any butter. I would not go back to this one.

My sister and I went here a couple nights ago around 8:40pm. They didn't have any customers at this time. We sat down and ate at the grill, the food wasn't horrible just a little salty. But then the bill came and we had been charged a $15.00 gratuity fee(for 2 people). We asked to speak to the manager to find out about the charge. That's when Dianne the owner comes out with and attitude and tell us we had to pay the cook and waitress (I thought that was her job)... I will never go back to this Shogun again or any Shogun if this is how they do business...

I've been going to shogun for a better part of 4 years and I have never had a problem. Great service, great food.

Fairly inexpensive during lunch. Not the fancy show but the food is good. $10 Hibachi lunch is great for a friday.

First, the food was very good. That’s the ONLY good thing. We expected this to be a fun place for a birthday dinner, but the chef cooked the dinner with no conversation, no fancy cooking moves. Uneventful. The waitresses were rude and seemed irritated if we needed something. No one there was friendly. When we ordered dessert they served it in cheap styrofoam bowls with plastic spoons. The place is shabby, dirty and has no appeal at all. Run from this place!
